Using Friendly Talk || SOCIAL STORY SKILL BUILDER || For Elementary
SOCIAL STORIES are a great way to teach important skills to children who are struggling to understand a particular social concept such as USING FRIENDLY TALK.
Social stories use clear, concise language to break down information into small, explicit steps that help children understand what they should or should not do in a given situation.
Two versions are provided, one in color and one in black and white. Laminate the color version and have it for years to come. The black and white version is great to print out and use with students individually. You can write directly on the activity sheet and children can have fun coloring in the pages.
~I wrote this story for a student that was saying very unfriendly and hurtful things to kids in his class. He was upsetting a lot of children and he did not understand why. This story helped him to gain an understanding of what friendly talk is, what it isn't, and why. If you have a student (or two) that speaks to others in an unfriendly way, I hope this story can be helpful to them as well.
