I Can Be Friendly, To Everyone! || SOCIAL STORY SKILL BUILDER || For K-2nd

  • $3.50

Social Stories are a great way to teach children important social skills that they may be struggling with. Social stories break down information into small, explicit steps so that children can more easily understand what they should and should not do in a particular social situation.

I had a student who felt he only needed to be friendly to the kids he liked. All other children he treated poorly. This was upsetting to his teachers and to the other children. I wrote this story to help him understand that it is important to treat everyone that you share time and space with in a "friendly" i.e. polite way, even if you do not necessarily like them.

This story does not suggest that you have to be FRIENDS with everyone, just that you need to be FRIENDLY to everyone.

This social story may help the child who has trouble being friendly (kind, polite, respectful) to children who they do not necessarily like. We do not have to be Friends with everyone around us, but we do need to be friendly with people that we share space and time with.

This story talks about the need to be friendly and the difference between a Friend and being Friendly.
